Morris Miller (Treasurer) joined the Daylight Center and School, Inc. (Daylight's) Board in March 2021.and has served as Finance Chair since joining the board. He was nominated by his brother Mervin Miller, then the Board President. Morris's duties include monitoring donor contributions and the appropriate distribution of those donor funds. This primarily includes ensuring that distributions are in accordance with Minnesota State Law and Daylight's Articles of Incorporation.
Morris holds a BSBA in accounting and a minor in Computer Science from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah Oklahoma (NSU) in 1988.
Morris has worked in the oil and gas industry for nearly 30 years and currently is owner and President of Miller Energy Consulting, LLC, in Tulsa, Oklahoma that he formed in February 2014. His current residence city is Tulsa, Oklahoma where he has lived since 1973. Morris specializes in federal royalty accounting to the oil and gas industry helping them resolve complex federal royalty requirements.
Early in his professional life Morris worked in the aviation industry as a certified flight instructor at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota and Catlin Aviation in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He also worked as an air traffic controller for eleven years then entered college at NSU to complete his accounting degree.
Morris has two children, and five grandchildren ranging in age from seven (twin granddaughters) to twenty-five years old.
Morris is a veteran of the United States Army. He served as a helicopter crew chief in Vietnam between October 1967 and 1968. He was awarded the Air Medal and various other service ribbons for his service during the Vietnam Conflict.
